Getting to the hospital

When you went into labor how did you get to hospital? I live 30+ min from my hospital and work 5 min from my house (further out). If i go into labor at work I will need to drive myself to the hospital but I’m terrified I won’t be able to do the drive if I’m in too much pain. Plus the majority of my route is on the expressway. My husband works 10 min away from the hospital and it wouldn’t make sense for him to come home and get me unless there was enough time between contractions. There’s no one else nearby that could take me. My mom lives near the hospital and my sister isn’t close to the hospital or me.

Has anyone had to drive themselves?
