Sooooooo today at my place of work was a never ending boiling pot of emotions.

I got to work there was no supervisor on the floor for about 40 mins. I asked a fellow coworker to switch a task with me they ultimately said no so I did it anyway at the time I was to do it. In the middle of me doing the task I see a supervisor looking to make sure I’m doing the task.

In the midst of this two people got into an argument. I walked away so I wouldn’t be involved. As you know misery is always looking for company. Both parties keep trying to talk to multiple employees about the situation making the whole vibe awkward.

After several hours go by the drama heats up again with the same two people.

Some time goes by and the manager asks to see me because I’m a witness. I tell them hey i didn’t really see or hear anything it didn’t involve me.

They decide to send me home claiming it’s for integrity of the investigation and they’ve sent the other two home.

I come home and see the follow up email from the conversation and it is nothing that was talked about with me.

States they’ve sent me home for “falsifying company records”

Yes you read right company records files documents insert whatever here. I’m appalled like when this happen where was I ? So asking to switch now is apparently turned into this. I couldn’t even write a statement bc now I’m having to save my wee job from a perilous grasp that is.

Ive read all 95 pages of the employee handbook none of it says this.

So I’m like WTF.

Im not even in shock I predicted if they got wind of my pregnancy they would try to erroneously fire me and boom here tf it is.

Working in the US absolutely sucks. The states like GA make it horrendous to work. So here I am pregnant and about to be terminated Im only losing my job. I’m gaining my sanity , my peace of mind ,but mostly reclaiming my time. Jobs are scarce due to covid but there is no way I’m going to keep myself in a position I do not belong. It’s a check to check world out here. We are all trying to provide for our families and stay above water and there are companies that do this. My job owns damn near everything at the end of the day it’s on to the next.

When you have a baby and your in the US it’s a crap situation. You have to work bc either your solo or your SO is the bread winner and you’re the homemaker. There is no two ways about it. Child care is expensive , maternity leave is a joke and the cost of having a baby you can have a range rover with all the trimmings. Insurance is laughable no matter it’s through your job ,private , state funded.

The shit is ultimately deplorable I wish I could leave on my own terms but I’m honestly just tired.

Im too damn tired.
