Cervix check...

So I never really check my cervix I can never really find it lol but I've been doing some reading about how ur cervix feels thru out our cycle so I had my SO check it for me.. I told him and showed him everything he might feel (tip of nose, chin, lips) open or closed high or low. He said he thinks it feels high, firm, and closed... I'm confused... Everything I read says that after ovulation and AF that the cervix is low, and hard it didn't really say how it would feel if I'm pregnant so I'm wondering for the ladies that do cervix checks that got a bfp how did it feel before u got the bfp? Please help if u can!!
