If I get pregnant is the baby going to chew up and ruin my nipples?

I think I get this thought because of crap I heard and/or saw in magazines or something. I feel weird asking my mom about this. Also, I told my husband I'm scared of this happening and he just laughed. 😑.  I wish I had some gfs who knew about it, but I don't because no one has a baby yet. 🤷 I wanna have a baby, but also just kinda scared from all the nightmare stories I've heard and plus I'll be first one to do all this out of all my friends.

I mean this in the nicest way possible... if your biggest concern is your nipples, you’re not ready for a baby.

I see a lot of ladies saying "you're not ready yet" because you're concerned about your nipples. So I'm gonna be the odd ball and just give you your answer straight up. You will go through a lot nursing wise.. the first 2 or so weeks your nipples will crack and bleed and it will be painful. BUT they will not ruin them. Do some research to get an idea of what you'll be dealing with. No one is ever truly ready for a baby and not everyone is aware of what pregnancy does to the body. So just do some research and you'll be fine 🙂

When babies nurse effectively they do not harm the nipple. There could be some initial soreness and pain. Older babies may bite on occasion. But they don’t chew on your nipple. 
You also don’t have to breastfed. 
But I’d suggest researching more the changes your body goes through, labor and postpartum before having a baby. While not 100% needed it’s a good idea to have a decent grasp on what’s going on before you do it.

I think she’d to have cute boobs/nipples. Now I have like, sad boobs with raspberry nipples. As soon as I’m done with nursing I’m getting new ones.

Nursing is only rough on your nipples when you first start, I’d say weeks 2 and 3 were the worst. It’s not because the baby is chewing, though, it’s more because you’re nursing every couple of hours which means they’re your nipples are being exposed to the babies saliva and the friction caused by the nipple rubbing against the roof of their mouth constantly. After nursing, I don’t think my nipples are drastically different, though my breasts certainly are. Some people try nursing and decide shortly after it’s not working for them and switch to formula. There are lots and LOTS of weird, uncomfortable, painful, and embarrassing things that happen throughout pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum.  If you are the first of your friends to have a baby, you’ll be navigating lots of uncharted territory. How well you handle it depends on how ready you were to become a mother in the first place. The body changes are the first thing I think a lot of young women think about, but what you should REALLY worry about is whether you and your partner have strong communication, are truly supportive of each other, learn and grow from your arguments, and are comfortable enough to be TOTALLY open with each other. your body does change after having a baby if that’s also what you mean, if you choose to breastfeed and want to advice baby from bitting you you can always excessively pump and feed baby instead of excessively nursing.

Not going to lie, those first two weeks adjusting to a babies strong latch on hormonally sensitive nipples is rough.  BUT using a good nipple cream helps and they toughen up after a couple weeks.  It's totally worth the bond!

Your boobs will never look the same of you choose to breastfeed. I had full B cups before pregnancy, my boobs got huge while pregnant and then breastfeeding. Once I finished breastfeeding they looks like pancakes lol. But, I’m now pregnant with #2, plan on breastfeeding again. My husband was fine with my body changing. I always “joke” he needs to pay for my boob job eventually.. I’ll probably be serious about that in a few years.

Babies don't ruin your nipples or chew on them. Even as they get bigger and get teeth, they may bite here and there, but they don't end up all chewed up and ruined lol
