My husband gets up every time he hears our 2.5 yr old crying at night. I almost never hear him. I get up every time our 6mo old wakes up (at the foot of our bed) and he almost never hears her. It’s bizarre. Every morning we check in with each other because it’s like we weren’t next to one another all night.

When my son was a newborn and still sleeping in our room my husband would get up with him for 1 night feed. Except he never heard the baby cry and I would have to try so hard to wake him up that I might as well have just gotten up with the baby myself.
