Seizure in one year old
The other night was the scariest moment of my life. My little one had been asleep in his pack and play for about an hour when he let out this awful screech. I went in the room and he was stiff as a board, hands clenched and looked like he was screaming/crying but no noise was coming out. Eventually from the waist up loosened up as I held him and he wasn’t able to bare his weight and was flopping backwards. His eyes opened but he was super dazed and unresponsive. He looked as if he was sleeping with his eyes open. When the paramedics arrived, his temp was 98.2, sugars were normal, heart rate normal with a slight elevated blood pressure. The doctors at our local hospital had zero explanations and told me to follow up with pediatrician and referred him to a neurologist. He’s never showed any signs of seizure activity before. He’s overall been a healthy baby. My little momma heart hurts so bad for him 😔
Has anyone ever experienced anything like this? Any helpful words of advice? I’m really hoping that maybe this was a freak thing. I’m so paranoid and on edge now and can’t even sleep because I’m terrified 😣
