Crows symbolize intelligence and cunning. There’s an Irish myth/story (I think) about crows, hazelnuts, and salmon, where it tells the tale of how the birds got to be so smart (hint, the story says through magic basically).
The death thing comes just from the fact that they’re scavengers and can eat from dead prey instead of killing it themselves. Oh, and some version of the Noah’s ark and the dove story where first Noah sent the crow (which was also white) but it didn’t return with a sign of land so the bird was cursed and turned black or smth. I like, barely remember it. But I do remember that it deffo wasn’t the birds fault 😭 
Anyway, the point is, crows and ravens are amazing, super smart and super sweet. Mythology just did them dirty 😭
