Transvaginal ultrasound !?

So this is my first time I’m pregnant and I have an appt on the 15th for an ultrasound. I’ll be 8 weeks , do you think they will do a transvaginal ultrasound, or a regular one ? And do transvaginal ones hurt ? I’m super nervous and don’t know what to expect.. what were your experiences ?

Normally most doctors that early on will do a vaginal ultrasound. And no it does not hurt. Just a bit of pressure.

Sometimes they do vaginal at 8 weeks. My OD did an abdominal us. Vaginal ultrasound is just pressure.

If they don’t see anything on the normal ultrasound they will do the vaginal one. Nothing to be worried about I’ve had about 8 of them by now. Doesn’t hurt

I had an ultrasound done at 8 weeks and they told me they would attempt an abdominal ultrasound, but if they couldn’t see what they needed to that they would do a vaginal one. To help with the abdominal US they told me to drink at least 2 glasses of water 30 minutes before I arrived for my appointment. I drank way more than that and they were able to see everything via abdominal ultrasound.

Yes they will probably do a internal scan as the baby will only be very small to see on the normal one ! No it doesn’t hurt, it’s just uncomfortable more than anything x

I didn’t get a transnational at 6 weeks. But not, I have had them a lot in my life and they don’t hurt at all. If you feel it’s uncomfortable just let the tech know and they will stop straight away. The probe is way way thinner than a penis, don’t worry!
