Epidural vs. Natural Birth

Hello all,

I’m seriously reconsidering my decision to have an epidural and be heavily medicated during labour. I’m due in May and I haven’t really learned about the different methods of giving birth. I am sure there are pros and cons to each method but I’ve started hearing that the epidural can cause negative long term effects or even increase chance of tearing. I’m wondering what you all have done or are planning on doing and why. I originally said that there was no way in hell I’d ever have a natural birth but now I’m wondering if it’s the best choice long term.
