Lovey Introduction?

Are you guys introducing a lovey to your babies? I am considering introducing one. I'd have him snuggle with it during his bedtime routine now to start getting attached but not have in his crib until he turns 1. Hoping it would be a good comfort item to help him when he wakes during the night and maybe sleep better. But I also don't want him to get too attached in case it gets lost or forgotten when we go on a trip or something. Has anyone had experience with using a lovey?

What is a lovely? Like a stuffed animal?
 When our baby was a little over a month old we took him to a big trees trail because it was outside and there were only like 5 other people scattered on the trail. Afterward we got him a little stuffed squirrel. He absolutely loves that thing. He chews on it, throws it, hugs it, sleeps with it and pets it. If we go anywhere we take it with him. He even snuggles with it randomly throughout the day. It's easily washed and small enough to tuck in next to him in the stroller or on the stroller tray
. For his half birthday we included it in his photos and will do the same for his birthday. 
So if that's what you're talking about I'd say go for it! I still have my teddy bear from when I was first born. My husband still has his raccoon (which is smaller than our sons squirrel). Just watch out for it once covid-19 restrictions are lifted and other children are around so it doesn't "disappear."

We introduced our son to a lovey when he was maybe 2-3 months old, he would only get to hold it during his bottle before a nap/bedtime so he would associate it with sleep and not just play time. 
From about 6 months we noticed he had really formed such an attachment to it, he now recognises it’s name (Mr Snuffles - it’s an elephant head haha) and literally lights up when we give it to him. 
He’s always slept well so that wasn’t the intention, we wanted it as a comforter if ever needed. Which he started daycare at 9 months and it’s proven to be exactly that, any time they couldn’t settle him they gave him Mr Snuffles and he was immediately happy which is exactly the goal we had in mind when we first introduced it. Now at daycare he only has it for naps (same as home), and the very rare occasion when he’s upset. 
We bought 3 of the same lovey so that there is always a spare when one
 (or 2) are in the wash, or if they were to get damaged in any way (yet to happen though!)

Now im tempted to give my boy one!!! My first son loved his doggie for a long long time but since it was given to him I couldn't get another when he left it at the airport. So I made him a kitty cat since he prefers cats over dogs. He has sleeps with it but on and off at during the day.

All of my kids have a lovey. My 3 & w year old still sleeps with theirs every night. I don’t always bring them on vacation and they do fine. I typically begin putting it in the crib between 6-9 months depending on the child. It makes a great night time teether also. If my baby is really fussy, I rub it on me to give it my scent and that helps calm him down. You can also put it in the crib during the wind down process and as soon as baby falls asleep take it out if you’re worried about suffocation.

We introduced a lovey at 7 months i think to snuggle w at bedtime/naps but also to keep him occupied during the wee hours of his wake ups ... its a pooh bear! It smells completely like him now, i even got a back up just incase !?

Buy 2 of the same one just in case it does get lost or you need to wash it! My son has 2 elephant head loveys and LOVES them! He’s been sleeping with them for a while now.
