Waking up every single night

My daughter turned 1 on the 21st (also it's officially Feb 1st now, we made it through the first year everyone) anyway, for a few weeks now she keeps waking up at 4 in the morning, sometimes 5 standing up in her cot crying just wanting to be held. I hold her til she's asleep and I Go to put her down again but as I'm lowering her in to the cot she realises, stiffens and cries. This goes on repeat until I give in and let her sleep in between my husband and myself.

She just seems to hate her cot. Nap time, bed time it's a challenge, she wails going in to it
