Anyone ever used an expired pregnancy test and it was still accurate?

I been taking some tests and they been coming out positive. Last migh i was doubting and i thought what if theyre expired. And sure enough i check this morning and they’re expired. 😒 im going to go get some new ones later but wondering if this has happened to others and how it worked out?

I’m not sure how true this is as I never looked into it myself, but I was told that the chemical used in pregnancy tests becomes less effective once past the expiry date. The chemical becomes less effective at detecting hcg. So although false positives do happen on expired tests, you’re more likely to get a false negative since the chemical wouldn’t have detected the hormone. Either way though, it’s best to try again with a non-expired one to get a definite answer.
