Anyone not do NIPT?

I’m debating if I want to do the test or not. It’s kinda pricey. If not, Are you getting another test in place of it like NT? Or just not doing any of the tests?
We have no family history. My doctor said it’s my choice. I just don’t know what to do. Any advice?

I am not doing one either! But I was also debating because it felt like everyone did! Glad we are not alone :)

I’m not doing it as it is very pricey and also I have no family history and my first when I did it come back fine so I don’t feel the need to. C

I didn’t do it because I have no risk factors and wasn’t going to pay out of pocket for it.

I’ve never done it and I’m considered “old” as a pregnant women. I guess my decision was based on my personal beliefs that no matter what the test showed I would still try to carry the baby to full term, so in my case it wasn’t worth the cost. So far I have a happy healthy baby girl and another baby on the way. I guess it just depends on if you want piece of mind now or wait until the anatomy scan where they can see if there are markers for problems.

We did not with any of our pregnancies.  The outcome would not change the way we felt about our baby so we opted out.

I opted out of it with my last pregnancy and with this one even though I’m over 35.  I feel like knowing will not make a difference and if there’s anything serious it will show up in the anatomy scan.

I would not have had to pay out of pocket for the testing and still did not do it. We have no risk factors and the results wouldn’t have influenced our decision on the pregnancy.

I did it in all my pregnancies. I’m not sure it would change my decision but could give me time to prepare. Natera has a self pay option for 250 with was 700 dollars cheaper than with insurance. You can also use a health spending account. If you don’t get it just get the 12 week ultrasound where they measure the neck. I believe that is typically covered and you get to see your babe!
