So I called an OB office 3 weeks ago (today) to ask some questions and get an appt ASAP to get referred to an mfm because this is a very high risk pregnancy that we may not be able to keep. I couldn’t even get through to the doctor to explain my history and why I needed an urgent appointment, they just scheduled one for 8 weeks. I tried explaining to the nurse my history and she didn’t even know what I was talking about to understand the urgency.

So a few days later I contacted my old midwife to see if she could refer me to an mfm. I started working with her, an OB, and an mfm. I called and canceled the original appointment that I set up because I didn’t need to see that ob. That was over 2 weeks ago.

I just got a call from the nurse who said “I was looking through your intake notes, and you need to stop breastfeeding your son immediately.”

I said “oh, why is that?”

“Because you’re at risk of preterm delivery due to a previous premature delivery”

I responded with “My delivery outcome won’t be affected by breastfeeding because my premature delivery was because of placenta deciduitis due to an immune reaction to my pregnancy”

She said “Ive never heard of that but you’ll still have to stop breastfeeding” 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

So then I asked her why she was going through my intake form when I canceled the appointment and she started berating me about needing prenatal care. NO SHIT LADY. I called your office several times with concerns and was told to bring those up at my 8 week appointment, which were all things that needed to be addressed ASAP.

I told her I was under the care of a team now and that their clinic didn’t need to contact me in the future. And also threw in that the mfm gave me clearance to breastfeed.

I’m just very annoyed because I called several times that first week to try to get anyone to listen to my concerns and then they call back to criticize me 🤦‍♀️ and still not to address any of my concerns
