9 day period

Has this ever happened to any of you ladies? I usually have a 4 day period btw never had any issues with my cycles this particular month I bleed heavy for 9 days and had to end up getting admitted to the hospital because the cramps were so strong and painful I could barely walk I had thought I had a cyst on my ovaries but they did ultrasounds a Pap smear urine test and a blood test and everything came back normal I’m so confused and no I’m not stressing at all. Has this happened to any of you ladies?
