Experience with ectopic pregnancy?

Question

I’m currently 8+ days late (4m pp so I’m not sure exactly when I should’ve started), but I’ve had period symptoms for over a week with no period. I’ve taken 5 tests, all definitively negative and still no period.
I know irregular periods are normal pp, but I went ahead and messaged my doctor to see. Basically, they said to wait a week and take another test and if I have lower ovarian pain, I should go to the ER to be checked for an ectopic. So, now I’m super nervous about an ectopic when I hadn’t even considered that as an option before.
Does anyone have experience with an ectopic that wouldn’t mind sharing with me? Did you have a positive pregnancy test? How did you know it was ectopic?

I had an ectopic roughly six yrs ago. I did not know I was pregnant at the time. I got my period same time that month but it was pretty light....I was irregular so I didn’t think much of it. Then I would bleed a small amt each day and I was nauseous on & off. I eventually took a test and realized I was about 7 wks pregnant. After I realized I was pregnant I went to the doc immediately and they started blood work tracking my hormones. They told me i would likely miscarry or it was an ectopic. They did a d&c but found no tissue and we quickly had to decide what to do about the ectopic bc if it bursts I could’ve died. I could undergo surgery to remove it or take methotrexate to abort the pregnancy. I chose the surgery in an attempt to save my Fallopian tube bc there’s a chance the medication won’t & since I was so far along I didn’t want to risk it rupturing.

I had a positive a few days after my period was due, ruptured at 5+3, my first sign was spotting, pain started the next day and day after that I was ruptured and the day after that I was in surgery
Ectopic are rare, I wouldn’t worry too much about it

I had an insane amount of pain & bleeding. I could def tell something was wrong.

I honestly wouldn’t start worrying about that. The pain is really really bad, you’ll know something is up. But right now, without any pains it’s needlessly making you worry. Keep positive 💕
