successful induction story

Tiffany

hi all. I am a FTM and was so nervous doing this and i see a lot of mamas are being induced as well, so wanted to share my story for those who needs encouragement. i went in right at 12:01am on 2/2 to be induced at 39 weeks. they inserted a Foley balloon inside me earlier on Monday to help me dilate to 2.5cm but my cervix was still high. so they gave me Cytotec 2 dosages to help thin out my cervix. In 8 hours my cervix was thinned to 70%. They gave me morphine to help with early labor contractions. then they started Pitocin. I then labored for a while with my husband’s help and decided to get an epidural. they ramped up Pitocin dosage after I was numb and good. then the doctor came to check me at 315pm and said my baby is still at -3 position. but literally within 25 minutes my water naturally broke and I went from 4cm to 10cm dilated. I pushed hard for 90 mins and my son Preston was born. I got a second degree tear and bleeding heavily but within the norm. I was up walking within an hour. and breastfed twice already. this is my personal experience and if you are getting induced as well I hope you also have a safe delivery.
