I would refuse, breathing is the key to birth as well as feeling safe and calm. I’d be none of those things with my face covered. It feels like handsmaids tale stuff to me!

With my daughter we were told we had to wear a mask when nurses or doctors were in the room and while pushing. Some nurses cared and a lot of nurses didn’t care off you had one on. When no one was in the room we kept them off and when a nurse came in.. we would put it on. Sometimes I would forget and they never said anything🤷🏼‍♀️ but while pushing, yes I kept it on which honestly I was so focused on getting baby here that I didn’t even care.

I was told that I had to wear a mask, but my doctor ensured me that if I wear to pull it off, no one would say anything. My baby came super quick....I didn’t even realize I had my mask on the whole time until I saw pictures afterwards.

Haven't delivered yet but the hospital I will requires a mask anytime a nurse/doc/employee is in your room including during labor. My sister did it last summer and said it wasn't a big deal. She said she was so focused on other things the mask was way way down the list and she forgot she was wearing it until she went to kiss her sons head and it was mask to head. Not like they will stop your labor if the mask falls off or whatever but yes I will wear one while delivering.

I’m getting tested the 16th for my c section on the 19th I’ll see then if I can go maskless or not I definitely should test negative Bc I’ve been isolated from people my whole pregnancy unless I went to the store

I personally didn’t get tested until after I gave birth and started going into postpartum shock
