Hospital trip? Or suck it up?
I don’t wanna feel like I’m overreacting but then I don’t wanna under react and regret it. I was seen for an appointment two days ago and since that appointment, I’ve developed a really bad cough that has also been accompanied by difficulties breathing. It’s worse when I’m laying down and trying to rest and it’s a constant tightness in my throat/chest. If I breathe in deep, it causes a really deep bark like cough with wheezing. When I have a small cough, it can sometimes take 2-4 consecutive coughs to catch my breathe. I’m 28weeks pregnant. Should I go to the hospital, or should I just try to tough it out. I have no fever, but I’ve barely been able to get some sleep with this issue. My appointment was 02/03/2021. So it hasn’t been long but night time has been miserable and I’ve tried sleeping more upright and taking/running several baths and showers with little to no help. I use Vick’s vapor rub on my feet and chest, but it doesn’t seem to make a difference. I haven’t really coughed up any mucus as there hasn’t really been much drainage. It’s all been dry coughs. I don’t wanna deplete my babies supply of oxygen, but I also don’t wanna show up for them to just tell me there’s nothing more they can do than what I’m currently doing. It’s not as bad throughout the day, but I still have the same problems. I’ve increased my water intake and I’ve tried really hard to rest periodically throughout the day. Resting is when it seems to flare up the worse. Are there any options I should try? I messaged my OB and contacted the clinic, but nobody has answered. Am I just being a baby?
