Positive opk on CD 23!?!??

Question

Thought I wasn't going to get a positive opk.  Got my darkest one ( but not quite positive at CD 18, and I figured I was about to O because I was getting ewcm and had tender breasts. But I took an opk this morning, and its a very strong positive! Confused because my cycle is on average 28 days, so it doesn't make sense to o this late. Any thoughts?

I ovulate on day 21! We did the bd the day I got my darkest line and got pregnant this time. I never took opk till this last cycle. I just assumed I ovulated normally. Get to bed!!

Not all people ovulate in the middle I have a 28 day cycles and I don't ovulate till around day 23

I ovulated late last month too, have a normal 28 day which changed my cycle last month to a 35 day, I think mine was due to antibiotics because I had strep, but I got a positive cd 16 and then again cd 20-24, my temp dip was cd 23 confirming that I had indeed ovulated late

They say the days between ovulation and the start of your period usually only varies a day or two. It's called the luteal phase if you want to read more about it. What causes our period to be late is when we ovulate late, that can change. So according to your cycle you'd ovulate 5-6 after you ovulated and that's not enough time for an egg to implant. You could have a luteal phase defect where you get a period too soon and the egg can't implant. Have you gotten your period yet?

I would do the baby dance just in case. That happened to me last cycle. I got a positive opk on day 19 and then another on CD 29. Turns out that's when I actually ovulated

I ovulate very late in my cycle.  Not everybody does the standard CD14.
