I live with my dad and just started having sex this summer. I want t get on birth control and I feel awkward asking for it. I'm gonna say I want it for period related stuff but still not sure how specifically to ask... He's pretty smart I'm afraid he'll see through that excuse.

I know exactly how you feel. I live with my dad and I don't really know my mom. If you really want to get birth control and not have your dad be upset or angry or anything, it'll be a process. It'll take literally months, at least for me but my dad is pretty scary lol. I just acted like my periods were so bad like two weeks long and the cramps made me puke and it was sooo much blood (all lies btw) and eventually I was like my health teacher or my female friend say birth control makes periods barely there or not at all and he wasn't happy about it, but he took me to get it.

But my best suggestion is, don't even bother. You don't need a parent to get birth control. Tell your dad your periods have been bad and want a check up at a gyno doctor and just tell the doctor you want birth control and they will NOT tell your dad. Or just call and make an appointment yourself and go in without your dad.
