Nicu time?

How many of your babies got taken to the nicu for low blood sugar and how long did they have to stay?

Answer

With my first pregnancy my son was taken to the nicu and stayed for 2 weeks. His sugar bottomed out at 25…which from what was explained to me it should have been around 75-80 when he was born. At that time I didn’t know I had gestational diabetes as I hadn’t been tested for it until close to the end of my 8th month and no treatment was ever given. 
NOW I’m type 1 diabetic and insulin dependent. I’m hoping that we don’t have the same problems with this baby as we did with my son. I’m definitely doing everything I can to prevent that this time around.

Hi my baby had to stay in the nicu for only three days she was a late preemie. But she also had jaundice so it was hard getting her to eat at first and controlling her own temp but she was able to come out the nicu before we were discharged from the hospital I had a c section
