What can I start giving him?

Hi ladies so I have a 5 month old he drinks formula but he’s starting to refuse it, what foods can I start giving him?

Still too young for solids. And milk is the main source of nutrition for the entire first year, solids are only a very small supplement. 
All signs below must me met. And being 6m old.

Milk should be the primary source of nutrition until age one. Speak to your doctor if you don’t think he is getting enough. Typically babies need a high number of calories that they can’t get from food, and any solids he takes in will be decreasing the amount of milk he drinks. He is also a little young for solids. The recommendations are 6 months, able to sit unassisted, and little to know tongue thrust.

There are stage 1 foods (purées) that you can start from 4 months and up. Our pediatrician stated that if baby shows readiness, you can go ahead and start. Although you still have to give milk - as that is the main food source. And if you do give purées, give one kind of food (such as bananas) for 3-4 days before moving onto something new to make sure of no allergies.

You need to just continue with the formula, too young for food unless your pediatrician gave you the ok to start and even then it’s usually introduced once during the day and baby’s main food source is formula/breast.
