Trying to get pregnant

My current husband and I have been trying for almost three years. The other night I was really bad upset smotach but it also has been feeling like butterflies have been in my stomach. I am due to start today. I know I am going to wait to see if I start. Has anyone every had that feeling and want to take a test, but scared to because you have and test has come back negative?
