Maybe it was a bad joke. TBH, my hubs said the same bad joke 2x. The first time he said it a few days after finding out, I chuckled, knowing it wasn’t serious but we both were shocked and overwhelmed by the news. The 2nd time I told him it isn’t a good joke. He agreed... was just his way of attempting humor to process it all. 
Not forgiving the statement, just offering a different perspective. If my hubs had texted that vs. say it in conversation, I wouldn’t have chuckled bc I wouldn’t have known it was a nervous joke. 
Talk to your partner in person & let him know how you feel. Give him a little time to let the shock wear off (some need the full 9 mo! 😅) & tell him you really don’t appreciate conversations like that.
