When can the baby hear?

At what week does the baby acquire it's ability to actually hear? My SO keeps telling me "we can't teach the baby that language" because I swear like a sailor. So does anyone know the time frame? I'm 12 weeks 4 days have I already taught the little one bad words?

They say 22weeks they can distinguished voices.

I think around 18/20 weeks they can hear.

I want to say it's 14-16 weeks. I can't remember exactly. They can't hear the words to start off, they kind of just hear muffled voices/sounds. As their hearing matures they will be able to hear better and recognize different voices. I'm sure they can hear/make out words. But they don't know what they mean :p and even when their hearing is more mature, it's still muffled because they are surrounded by fluid. So I'm sure you are okay. I don't think your baby will come out cussing like a sailor haha

Your baby hasn't learned any bad words lol he/she may have started to hear you but it won't be a couple more months until they can even start remembering voices let alone remember words.
