Is microwaved popcorn safe while pregnant?

I’ve been eating it tons but just saw some stuff online saying the chemicals in the bags cause birth defects and a ton of other scary things!! 😬 it said you should pop popcorn on the stove and never in the microwave. I’m 20 weeks and have been eating it a couple times a month

It’s fine. If it caused defects, it would be on the list of things not to eat.

Eat it! I had it nearly daily for first trimester! My three year is fine....won't nap anymore, but fine.

There are additives in the microwaved bags. There’s something “bad” in just about everything we consume in our society anymore, (processed things anyway), BUT our bodies are also incredibly tough, and everything in moderation is a good way to live- there’s no reason to be fearful, women have been eating microwaved popcorn for decades 😉
However, now that it’s on your radar & If you decide you want to avoid those additives, just switch to doing it in a pot on the stove for peace of mind!! 
I’m pregnant and actually switched recently too!! 🙃 Use about 1/2 cups of kernels, a little bit of oil, and a few minutes of your time! Bonus is you can season it however you wish- with real butter, or whatever else you choose!!

My mom is addicted to popcorn. She had several bags a day, every day, and had three kids that were perfectly healthy. I’m sure you’re fine. Plus if that were true, there’s a hundred other things you probably shouldn’t microwave and eat either.
