Donating eggs?

Has anyone done this?
What was it like?
Long process? Easy? Pay? Requirements?

Any info would be appreciated, I do not want children, but would love to help out others :)

I had a friend do it a couple times. The company paid for everything and she got a check between $6500-$8500 each time. She had to do a mental eval, do hormone injections, abstain from sex, and egg retrieval was done in an office with a mild sedative. She said it felt like a pap and had some cramping after. Had to have a driver after the retrieval. Do your research and pick a good clinic. Bless you!

Please do your research on the organization if you decide to do this. Just google it. There are hundreds of horror stories out here of women who donated once and ended up infertile. While other have donated three or four times and had no problems. Just be careful, do you research and good luck. I think it's great you'd like to help someone who can't necessarily do it on their own.

Very long process...and No it isn't easy money.

You usually fill out lots of questions and see people will look at your profile and see if they want to accept your donated eggs.  People decided based off how educated you are and how much disease runs in your family.

If you are looking for a quick way to earn cash this is not a good option. It could take over a year for you to receive any form of payment.

I tried and got past all the tests, but when they finally did the genetic testing they found out I was a carrier for cyctic fibrosis. They even flew me to Denver for testing. However that clinic doesn't accept anyone with any sort of genetic abnormalities. It was heartbreaking for me and the family. Luckily husband tested negative and now we're 9 weeks along! I'm going to try again after the baby through the same company, but different clinic. The Denver one just happened to be the best in the US. : (

I think when I looked it up, there were some crazy traits you had to have.

You couldn't be under a certain height, weigh over a certain amount, couldn't have taken certain birth controls, etc.

I know that all of those are to help be sure that the egg can be used but it was just crazy to me when I looked it up.

I was too short, too heavy, and had been on one of the birth controls.

My coworker sent in the paperwork for it but wasn't selected. I know you have to be under a certain age and in good health. I think her issue was that she's overweight so she wasn't considere healthy enough.
