Any U.K. mums to be?

I am currently 7w3d, my baby is due 24th September. I gave my GP a call and she advised that I won’t be seen by a midwife until I am at least 11 weeks. I understand that’s the U.K. system but I haven’t even had a call yet from a midwife to have my appointment booked in. As it stands I don’t know who my midwife is and, I don’t have an appointment date for my first scan. Is this normal and is anyone in a similar position?

I think it depends on where you live what the system is. Where I live we self-refer for antenatal care. So you could Google your local service and see if they have a self-referral system. 
As the other posters have said, you should have a booking in appointment with a midwife before 10 weeks, over the phone. Some do an in person appointment to get bloods and do other obs, but this is not across the board (I’ve been pregnant twice in the pandemic and gone with a different hospital this time and they have been slightly different to the last).

I'm East Midlands. Got my first midwife appointment on Thursday and I'll be bang on 10 weeks. Not had my 12 week scan date through yet either. The midwife was through my GP surgery and they are supposedly really busy at the minute. I guess there's a COVID baby boom.

Update, I got the midwifery contact number and called them up myself. I’ve been booked in for my first appointment (telephone) for tomorrow. 🙂

I’m having my booking appointment at 8 weeks with the midwife. Pretty sure she’ll book me for a scan at 12 weeks at the booking appointment.

This is normal (in NI at least). With my first pregnancy I self referred and got my appointment letter at 11 weeks scheduled for 2 weeks later when I was 13 weeks plus one day. I didn't have a separate booking appointment and they did booking and scan at that first appointment. 
I haven't received my appointment letter yet this time round and expect it will be another few weeks until I get it. I'm about 8 weeks now. If I haven't got my appointment date by 11 weeks I plan on calling but other than that just trying to be patient, which is so difficult 🙈.

I got given midwifes number by GP, but she doesn’t really get back to me! Won’t see her until 16 weeks. Had app on phone with hospital at 8 weeks as GP contacted them and have first scan at 11 weeks as I am high risk. 
Seems ages to wait doesn’t it?! Ask GP for community midwifes contact number I guess..

Currently 10 + 3 and my booking in apt is on Fri 12th. My first ultrasound is on the 25th of Feb. This is my 2nd and is very different to my 1st who was born last year. With my 1st i had a ultrasound at 8wks and another at 12wks. Im trying to be patient but its hard!!!

I got told I would hear till later due to changes because of covid I heard at 8+5 and the scan appointment came through in the post separately. The GP will manage anything you need support with till then so you can still speak to them I've spoke to the GP more than the midwife. I'm from South Wales.

I rang up at 6 weeks today and was told appointments between 8-10 weeks. Got booked for 10 weeks 1 day
