How would you pronounce Ares?

We named our baby Ares, after the god of war in Greek mythology, and I’m honestly surprised with how many people have asked how to pronounce it. While it’s old it’s a pretty famous name. It’s pronounced Air-ees like the star sign.

Ares looks more like “air-res” to me, i automatically say it like like that🤔. Aries gives more of the “air-rees”. I love both, if i would’ve had another boy in April we where going to name him Ares aswell🥰

That name also has a Hispanic origin so it can be pronounced “ar-res”. That’s how I said it in my head. I wouldn’t have thought “Aries”  pronunciation but that may be because I speak Spanish
