Is a chemical pregnancy a miscarriage?

Had my first positive pregnancy test on Sunday 1/31 (4 days past my period due date).

Started to cramp/bleed on Saturday 2/5, saw the doctor today 2/8 and they confirmed via ultrasound that there was no evidence of a pregnancy.

We are heartbroken.

But my question now is, is a chemical pregnancy the same as a miscarriage?

Not that it really matters now since I’m no longer clinically pregnant but I just want to understand.
