Ferber method

My almost 4 month old slept great until about 2 weeks ago (I’m blaming 4 month regression). Anywho, I’m gonna try Ferber method soon to sleep train... once I psych myself up haha. I’m dreading it... my baby gets SO WORKED UP, and she’s difficult to calm down sometimes. She’s been a fussy and colicky baby ( very different from my first daughter.) Has anyone sleep trained a baby like how I’m describing? I need some encouragement, advice, or kinda words! Do I try and sleep train without the paci? We are currently going into her room 1-3 times a night to replace paci.
