I went to get my blood drawn and the lady that did it was friendly but she was asking me a lot of questions. She liked my car and was asking about my car payments, my marriage, my kids, my job, I told her I was in the military and she wanted to know if the military still paid me.

I’m not a social person at all tbh so I feel like I just shared all my personal information with this lady. She was very nice but when I left I was like wth. I told my mom and she was saying that it’s because the lady was a people person and was trying to get to know me more. I’m not offended at all by that transaction, more-so confused lol. I was hoping I never run into that lady again. I literally only talk to my family. Conversations I have with other people besides people at school is usually hi and bye.

I definitely can work on my interpersonal skills but is it normal for people to start of conversation like this?

Thank you for the responses. I figured I need to loosen up and be more open. I do have trouble connecting with people on a personal level so that interaction was a little off putting for me.
