Back contractions

So this is my first pregnancy so I don’t know what to look out for when it comes to contractions. I’ve had some period like cramps nothing bad but just noticeable. I haven’t felt them today, but I been having bad upper back pain like where my kidneys I guess would be but it’s not my kidneys if that makes sense and some pain in my area down there like sharp pain every now and then. It started this evening and nothing makes it feel better.
