Which Birth Control?

So I am trying to figure out which birth control method to use. Has anyone had bad experiences with Nexplanon or having an IUD implant? I'm really worried about weight gain being a possible side effect.

Answer

The only weight I gained while having Nexplanon was from my own poor eating habits. And, I’ve been able to lose a little over 80 pounds so far while still having Nexplanon. 
The only method proven to cause direct weight gain from the hormones themselves is the depo shot. 
As far as other side effects, the biggest one to be aware of is irregular bleeding/spotting. That can include longer time frames with or without bleeding (including no bleeding at all), random bleeding, or frequent bleeding, at any given time... this is the most common side effect of all progestin only methods, like Nexplanon & hormonal IUDs.
