How do you feel about the fact that more African American women die during child labor than any other race?
I’ve seen a few articles recently with this statistic and it really shocked me that that was the first time I was hearing about something that apparently has been going on for a very very very long time in hospitals. If you look it up, you won’t find enough information on it as there should be. But More African American women die during child labor than any other race and hospital officials are trying to put an end to it (supposedly)
Child birth, no matter your first or fifth, should ALWAYS be a safe and respectful experience. I know women off all skin colors and backgrounds have bad experiences with labor, my doctors for my first baby were absolutely awful and I had severe blood loss from negligence on their part, but it IS statistically true that black women experience this at a substantially higher rate.
Do you have a personal experience of this? No matter what your race, there needs to be an end to negligence in healthcare, all healthcare professionals are supposed to be just that, professionals. They are supposed to be unbiased in their care and always offer 100% to every single patient, every single time. But yet this does not happen way too often.
I would love to hear other peoples thoughts and if you have had a personal experience towards it.
