Hey! So, yes, you can refuse anything being done to your body. With my last pregnancy I refused all cervical checks at regular appointments. When I was in labor I limited them. I was only checked maybe 3 or 4 times during a 20 hour labor. It would have been only a couple times if I had a competent nurse that actually knew what she was doing. My OB is completely amazing on has always been on board with my wishes.

I did decide to have them in labour but it wasn’t in my birth preferences. You don’t NEED them ever, they can only give you a snapshot and won’t tell you where you will be in 10 mins time. I jumped 5cm dilation in 2 hours when the midwives changed shift as I hated the first one, shows the power of the subconscious mind!
Only ever accept something into your body that you feel 100% comfortable with 💕 anything less is assault in my view x

You have the RIGHT to refuse ANY kind of intervention, including cervix checks. Informed consent is required for them to do anything. If you do not give them consent, they cannot do it. 
I highly recommend that you read The Positive Birth Book by Milli Hill. It will help a ton!

Absolutely! You can even request limited checks while youre in labor! Its your body and you have complete control over it!

Yes, the only reason it's pretty necessary is if you're about to get induced because they need to know whether or not to give you cervidil to ripen your cervix.

Yeah you can, I'm not sure why you would and doctors usually say it's good to get it done but you don't have to.
