Write a Prisoner?

Question

Has anyone ever used write a prisoner? For some reason, it’s been on my heart for a few weeks (I know I sound crazy...) but I literally feel something tugging at my heart telling me to do it- and get a PO BOX of course. 
Anyways, has anyone ever done it? I’d love to hear your stories. ❤️ 
Ps- this isn’t for “dating”.
EDIT—— to those saying write a soldier, that’s an awesome idea! How do you go about that?

You could write a soldier
You could write to children at St Judes childrens hospital.
You could write to seniors in a nursing home
You could write to foster children in the system
All a better option than writing a random prisoner.

I did family.... and i wouldnt recommend it. Maybe wtite a soldier. They have programs where u can write them and send. care packages. I personally wouldn’t recommend writting a prisoner without details of who they are.

You can write a nursing home too! The only experience I had was an inmate wrote me because I was in an add for my job. It was super creepy.

I’ve done it, but for a relationship & it wasn’t worth it. I second what someone else said about writing military instead or finding a pen pal. Prison writing just isn’t worth it especially if you get attached then when they get out they show a complete other side of them.. no bueno.

Well I’ve written to inmates who I know but I’ve never used that website. If you really want to, give it a try. Most just want something to do and someone to talk to. And the guards do open mail and whatnot of course so you’ll need to read up on their rules.

There’s a Facebook group called “letters to fort Benning” and lots that are posted don’t have a lot of people to write! Very awesome if you if you’d write them
