PCOS out of nowhere

Lindsay

My son was born about a year ago and I haven’t had an actual period since, just spotting which I think was due to hormones in BC. In June I was having weird ovary twinges, not painful but felt like something was going on. I got an ultrasound and my ovaries looked fine. Fast forward to two weeks ago at my annual appointment and told my OB I stopped birth control. I mentioned not having an actual period so she suggested an ultrasound and bloodwork. This time the ultrasound showed cysts and bloodwork confirmed PCOS. I can’t believe it just came out of nowhere.

Bloodwork also found Hashimoto’s, and a second ultrasound of my thyroid showed nodules which I need to have a biopsy of. I’m afraid I won’t be able to conceive before I get too old (I’m 37).
