Is it rude to put the crib on a baby registry?

Explain if you say yes... I feel weird doing it but I’ve seen a few others and they have it on there... 🥴

I’ve never seen a registry without a crib and changing table lol. As someone who isn’t a parent and has no interest in becoming one anytime soon, I wouldn’t find it weird at all to have that on there. I also don’t think the parents to be expect anyone to buy that for them. In my family at least, the grandparents usually purchase a crib or something like that. Something on the more expensive side. Nothing wrong at all with putting those items on there. 
Also from comments I’ve seen here, you get discounts for any item on the registry that was not purchased for certain places. So if anyone says anything, just tell them that. But honestly it’s not their business anywayyyssss

Not unless it's a horribly expensive one. I had a friend who basically just put all the expensive thing she didn't want to buy on her registries which I think is rude. They weren't things that cost hundreds of bucks but rather thousands...
A basic crib then, yes sure. A top of the range one that will set someone back a month's rent to buy, no.

I put everything on my registry regardless of price. It could be $3 or $3,000. You get a coupon for everything left remaining so if you want to buy the high ticket item you’ll get that discount! Registry discounts also (usually) count against everything on your list regardless of brand. A lot of store coupons have major exclusions on brands. A lot of people know this and I don’t think anyone would see you as being over the top.

No I mean usually whatever isn’t bought you get a discount on the rest of your items on the registry usually.. so if anything that would help if it wasn’t bought..

We chose not to put any really big ticket items on the registry. With our latest baby the most expensive item was the crib bedding set. We just felt like if you’re prepared to have a baby you should be able to buy for their needs yourself. So especially things like a crib that qualified as furniture we did ourselves. Besides we knew ppl really would rather shop for cute clothes and special blankets and lovies etc.

I personally wouldn’t put any ‘big ticket items’ as I feel that’s my responsibility as the mom to buy. If my family want to buy me one of these I’d rather send them the link directly. I only put gifts under $150 max on my registry
