What am I doing wrong 🥺

Baby girl had her 4 month check up today and is at 12.5 lbs ... what am I doing wrong. I’m breast and formula feeding. She takes a lot of small feeds through the day but on average getting about 6-7 a day with 2 at night (1am and 5am). I’m so sad because I feel like I’m not doing something right. The doctor said that she isn’t too worried bc for height she is in the 95% and her head measurement was okay.
Anyone else have and had a baby on the smaller side? Any tips on what I can do?!

Of your dr isn’t worried, you shouldn’t worry! From my understanding, so long as baby had plenty of pee diapers and is following their own growth curve, they’re ok.

Sounds pretty normal to me. My daughter has been in the 5th percentile for most checkups. She’s just a small baby, genetics as I am small too. Her doctor says as long as she is going up and still on the curve, and meeting all the milestones it’s fine. All babies are different and grow at their own rate

My daughter was 12lbs 8oz when she was 4 months old. Now she is 8 months old and weighs 15lbs 4oz! She’s in the 14th percentile and just a tiny thing but her doctor isn’t worried because she is following her own curve.
So basically, you’re doing nothing wrong! If your LO is gaining weight and having 5-6 wet diapers a day then everything is just fine☺️

My baby was tiny and his dr hated it. I just kept feeding him when he was hungry. At 2 he is finally average size. We had to swap pediatricians because our first one only focused on his weight and ignored everything else. Luckily, he had no health concerns. Our new pediatrician had no concerns with his weight and he was only right around 18lbs when he turned 1. He wasn’t even on the growth chart for weight until 9 months and it was only 2%.

Yes. My baby was born on the 25th centile for weight at 7lbs. He lost 8.9% in a week and then regained his weight and more. However, he was below the 2nd centile. I did combined feeding (breastfeeding and formula) and it works well. In 3 weeks he has gone from below 2nd centile to above the 9th. I feed him every 2 hours during the day and top up with formula. I feed every 3-4 hours in the early hours of the morning. I use a formula 150ml per kg which has helped.
