Why are some people already having ultrasounds?

My birthing center won’t see me until 8 weeks (tele health) and 10 weeks (physical exam but no ultrasound). Im curious why some women here already have had blood work, ultra sounds at 6weeks, etc.?

Is it weird that I will have to wait so long? Also, my birth center can’t do ultrasounds until later weeks so if I want an early one they’ll order me one and i can go to the hospital for that- but it’s optional- as long as I seem to be low risk I can birth at the center, if not, they’ll move me to the hospital. The birth center is affiliated with the hospital, so the midwife team is certified and all that and has great communication with the Obgyns at the hospital
