Just a small vent
My SO does not change our 1 year olds diapers because I cloth diaper. He was against cloth diapering from the start even though our son was allergic to basically every disposable except honest which were costing us a fortune. So to cut back on costs, I decided we needed to switch to cloth. We went from spending $100+ on diapers a month to $250 in the last year. The compromise was that he had disposables if he’s home alone with him for whatever reason and I would change the cloth diapers. Unfair when the choice was to benefit everyone but whatever, I was willing to do it.
However, I have hyperemisis right now. I am really really struggling with diaper changes. It’s really hard to be changing a wiggly 17 month old who is poopy while puking in a bowl at the same time.
So I bought a pack of disposables for his morning poop so at least I don’t have to rinse poo out of diapers.
Well this morning, he didn’t poo right away. I started getting sick and forgot he was still in a disposable waiting for poo because he was a bit off schedule. I was trying to make him breakfast while running back and forth to the toilet from the smells because I was out of zofran.
So I think he ended up with a poo diaper for about a half hour 😩 so then between the poo and the disposable, he had a horrendous rash.
SO saw it when I was changing him before bed and got on me about it a bit. He was all “I know you’re sick butttttttt” as if I wasn’t feeling bad enough already!
I told him he’s changing diapers when he’s home from now on and if that means he wants to risk our son’s skin in disposables because he’s unwilling to learn to use the cloth diapers, then the guilt of every rash and redness can be on HIM
I love him and he really does a lot for us but ffs men can be so dumb sometimes
