Is anyone letting their LO sleep on tummy?

Question

My baby has bad gas and is up every 15-20 minutes throughout the night. Every night. 
I have tried everything. My mother said me and my siblings all slept on our tummies and to try it with my son. I am nervous because of everything I hear and that babies should only sleep on their back. Anyone putting their baby on their belly to sleep?

Personally I wouldn’t, if something were to happen the guilt of knowing I’d gone against safe sleeping advice would be terrible.
I’d definitely talk to your doctor- it may not just be gas, it could be reflux which you can get medication for. If it is gas then your doctor might recommend a probiotic, doing cycling exercises, gripe water, feeding positions, etc that may help.

Just because nothing happened when your mom laid you guys on your stomachs doesn’t mean its safe or your baby will be as lucky. A family member lost a baby due to suffocation because baby was laid on their stomach to sleep. There is a reason they recommend back to sleep now. If your baby is having such bad gas that they can’t sleep at night, it’s time to call the pediatrician for help.

With my son the only way he would sleep from birth to now (15 months) is on his belly, I was just really paranoid so I got up every so often to make sure he was okay. After advising with his cardiologist about it at a month old she said that due to his small heart defect it was probably best to sleep on his belly as he would choke on his spit up while laying on his back.

Are you trying gas drops or gripe water? Run it by your dr but they could help a lot!

I wouldn’t risk it. I also have a family member that lost a baby do to suffocation. If little one is only comfortable for 15 minutes I would let your doc know. Babies fuss a lot but that is excessive. Good luck!
