Braxton Hicks?

Question

Has anyone had consistent Braxton Hicks? My stomach is tightening every 3-5 minutes for 45 ish seconds since last night. It isn’t painful, just uncomfortable.
I just don’t want to be the woman that goes to labor and delivery too early for Braxton Hicks!

It could be the start of pre-labor, but they can also become more frequent due to stress or dehydration. I had a scare in my first pregnancy with BH that were about 5 minutes apart all afternoon and evening, when I went into L&D they had me rest and drink a TON of water and eventually they stopped. I’d try relaxing and drinking more water first and if they don’t go away at least call your doctor and let them know, they can tell you whether or not/when to come in. ♥️

Have you tried drinking a tall glass of water and laying down on your left side? If they are consistent I would go to the Dr to get checked. You could be going into labor.

Anytime I get them I try and drink a ton of water and lay down. They usually stop within a few minutes of doing that. With my first, my real contractions felt nothing like BH. Same tightening but with a weird sensation/pain down really really low too. I knew from the first one that it was a real contraction.

Regular contractions lasting 30 seconds - 2 minutes without going away with change in position, drinking fluids, or rest are real contractions related to labor. With my fist son that stage of labor lasted 11 hours until it progressed to active labor. No need to go in unless you feel as if your water has broke (mine did as a small slow leak) or contractions become intense

I’ve been getting tons of stomach tightening too! Ask my doc about it yesterday and she said the 3-5 min apart lasting a min each for more than an hour is a good guideline but what she really recommends is waiting until they are so uncomfortable/ painful that I can no longer tolerate being at home! 
I’m a FTM with no complications and I’m only 20 min from the hospital so all of that probably informed her recommendation to wait it out as long as possible.

That’s how my labor with my son started was regular Braxton Hicks contractions that stayed consistent for the whole day!
