Question about NIPT test

I’ve seen so many people find out the sex of their babies with this test and I was wondering if you had to specifically ask to have that ordered as part of the blood test or if they automatically did it for you??

I did the NIPT testing when I was pregnant with my son and didn’t find out the gender until later on in the anatomy scan. I wasn’t even aware then that I could find out gender with that test!

Have things changed or is this something you asked for???
