C-section

I wasn't planning on it, but ended up having to have one. And it HURT. I don't know much about c-sections because I was planning on vaginal birth and didn't know if a painful c-section was normal? They gave me an epidural while I was in labor and before I started pushing.. Then gave me a little extra dose when I went back for the surgery. They asked if I could feel them and I couldn't at first and then it felt like they were ripping my insides out. I guess they ended up giving me more anesthesia that kind of knocked me out for a second while they finished, because I don't remember much after screaming bloody murder for a good 5 minutes. Then I remember waking and seeing my baby and my husband crying because he was so happy. But I didn't know if that was a normal thing with a c-section? All the mommas look well aware when they get their pic taken after with daddy holding the baby.. But not me.. I was still out of it and in pain!
