Baby girl born 2/11
My sweet baby girl made her arrival feb 11th! I went to my doctor to get checked because I thought my water was leaking on Wednesday, feb 10th. The doctor performed two tests on the discharge and one said yes it is my water and one read no it isn’t. My doctor said better safe than sorry basically and sent me into the hospital for monitoring since it was already 4:30 and her office was closing. Went in and the on call doctor checked me and said she could still feel that my water was intact but that I was at 3cm and if I wanted to be induced she would go ahead and get it started! I was so excited.
So at 7 pm I was hooked up to Pitocin. From 7-11ish I felt nothing happening. My contractions were so small they were ignorable. Right at 11 my water broke and my contractions were instantly about two minutes apart from the very first one I had so I got my epidural right away.
From about 11:30-2 a.m. I was able to nap but when I woke up I could feel so much pressure! I called my nurse to check and I had only gone to a 5. So she upped my epidural and I laid and watched a movie. By 3 I was feeling so much pressure I had her come check me again and I was already an 8! I was so hype but I’m so much pain. She put a peanut shaped blow up ball between my legs and said she expects me to be on it for about 3 hours. I already knew that was not going to happen lol
Literally only 30 min later at 3:30ish I had her come back and check me and I was at 9.5!! She said it could be another hour but I felt that it was going to be quick considering how fast I’d progressed so far. Anyways at 4am I called her in and said this baby is coming out! She definitely thought I was exaggerating and took her time putting on her gloves and washing her hands etc., but then she pulled my covers down and was like oh yeah she’s crowning!
My epidural had worn off almost completely. Once she began slipping her fingers around baby’s head (before I pushed) I was a little squirmy and she was like you can feel this? And I said oh yes I can. And she said well your medicine needs to be upped but it will take a few minutes to kick on if you want to wait to push. But by this time my adrenaline was going and I was just ready! So I pushed for about 4 minutes and baby Isla was born! ❤️
