Induction??

Question

Anyone been induced without pitocin?? My Dr wants me to get induced but I do not want to be given pitocin. I was wondering has anyone ever had an induction that didn't involve that. I was induced with my 1st and pitocin made my contractions 10x worse. Ik this because with my 2nd child I went in naturally and the contractions weren't nearly as bad. I'd like to go naturally this time but I have a different dr that's a little ways away from home and if I go into labor I don't want anything to happen but I also don't want pitocin. It's a hard decision but I'm getting closer to birth so I'm trying to tie up loose ends lol

I had the same experience as you did with pitocin. So now I’m ready to opt for anything other then pitocin. 
With my second daughter, they put a folley ballon first to jump start, and next day just broke my waters. No medicines. 
That was the best option ever. Balloon dilated me till 3cm over night and the contractions picked up 10 minutes after they broke my waters.

I was induced my first pregnancy with the cook catheter & cervical ripening pill . My labir started immediately but my waterbalso brike cery early in. Due to my high BP, water being broken, being GBS+, and cervix getting stuck at 3cm for 7 hours, i let them start Pitocin after I'd been in labor for 11 hours. It sucked. My 2nd pregnancy, i was induced with just the cook catheter & labor immediately got intense. I progressed all on my own withoit Pitocin. Still sucked, but much better than my first induction.

You can do cervidil and hope you don’t need pitocin but you can’t schedule one and day you don’t want pitocin lol

You don’t need pitocin unless you are actively not progressing. I would talk it over with your dr about your concerns when it comes to pitocin. I’ve had the conversation if I need induced where I said I will get pitocin if things aren’t progressing with using a cervix softener first and only bumping it up when I say so. 
Usually pitocin gets bumped every few hours even if you are progressing at whatever level you are at, so having a frank discussion stating that if you are progressing (even if it is a slow progression) and baby is doing fine then you want as minimal pitocin as possible, or hopefully other induction methods work to where you won’t need it at all

I'm high risk for preeclampsia so that's why my Dr wants to induce and as I stated I live 2 hours away from my OB and the hospital she delivers at. I didn't get preeclampsia with my 2nd child until after (they say). I think I was totally fine and the whole hospital atmosphere caused my BP to sky rocket. Plus I ate crap while in there so that plays a significant role too
