Has anyone TTC got the covid vaccine?

I am a health care worker and I am getting the first moderna vaccine this Thursday. I have heard of other nurses getting it while breastfeeding with no issues. I am not pregnant yet, but will be TCC.

I got my second dose the beginning of February while TTC #1.  I work in an ICU that is always full of COVID patients and I want to make sure I protect my baby and myself when I get pregnant.

I was actually going to get it but my doctor advised I take a month or two off of TTC if I got the vaccine. I’ve already been trying for 9 months so i opted not to do that. He advised against it only because with the second dose you can have a pretty high fever (my sisters was 103 when she got dose 2). The fever obviously passes and can be managed but high fever can really affect neural tube development & depending on your timing of pregnancy and the doses if you conceive you can run a risk of defects. But that’s all weighed against the risk of actually getting covid, so it’s a choice you have to make for yourself.

If I were like you and a healthcare worker I’d probably get it too. The benefits just have to outweigh the risks and in your case and the other ladies on here in healthcare I would think it’s a very good idea.
